Thamonwan Banjongkliang (Pseudonym: gchel) was born in Songkhla, Thailand in 1994. Her parents moved to Samut Sakorn when she was 14 which she started reading books and watching films while writing articles on films before submitting some of them to Starpics Magazine. Her first published short story, The Present of Yesterday (Thai: ปัจจุบันของวันวาน) was published in Sakod Vol. 1 (Short Stories and Essays from Bangkok Creative Writing Workshop) in 2012. Her second published short story, Bittersweet Indigo was self-published in Colours of Love (Thai: เรื่องรัก 16 เฉด) in 2016. DESIRE (Thai: ใคร่ | ลวง | รัก) was her first novel. She graduated M.A. in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies from College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Thammasat University in August 2023 and currently lives in Chonburi with her parents.
