Synopsis
Seksan Prasertkul’s The Fisherman revisits a story first written over 30 years ago, offering a powerful reflection on life on the river. Inspired by Seksan’s time among fishermen and raft dwellers in Thailand’s border forests, it explores survival, fate, and the rhythms of nature. Seksan, a key figure in the 1973 student uprising—a pivotal moment in Thailand's history—brings depth to this timeless tale of resilience and change. He was named Thailand's National Artist in Literature in 2009.
