In the year 1937, a pair of black elephant tusks was stolen before they could be sent to the capitol. The police major duo, Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery and Viscount Quell Thy Foe were sent to Thung Sawan province to find the said tusks.

Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery (Nim Chumsawet, age 39) met a Chinese young man (somewhere in his early 20s) who was hawker selling chicken gravy with rice at the train station. The Viscount asked him for directions to the precinct but the chicken gravy with rice vendor refused to talk to him. Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery had thought that perhaps the other man was Chinese and couldn't speak Thai so he simply brought the chicken gravy rice from the young man.

The chicken gravy with rice seller was Seng who had experience being extorted by both the police and the local mafia. He didn't want to be acquainted with the fuzz. He rented an old little house and carried the chicken gravy and rice baskets every day without a break so he could send his earnings back to his family in China.

Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery often brought the whole basket of chicken gravy with rice for the entire precinct. While the Viscount was investigating the stolen tusks, he asked around and started to get familiar with the people in Thung Sawan, both the locals and the province's millionaire, Saeng, who was a very influential figure in the province. Seng found that the Viscount had started getting a little too familiar with him. Later on, Seng was beaten up by the bandits living nearby because they thought he was a mold for the fuzz. At that time, the police had searched for the stolen property that the bandits stole, causing Seng's room to collapse. Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery suggested Seng stay at the superintendent's home with him, free of charge, to avoid danger. Seng, in turn, offered to do the house chores and prepare lunch boxes for the Viscount. Then, Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery took Toi, a neglected child, under his care while Seng helped take care of the boy ’s meals and took him to school.

Viscount Quell Thy Foe (Ard Vorachet, age 39) was a close friend of Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery since back in their Royal Police Cadet Academy days. He went undercover to investigate in the thieves' community. But when Tul (age 30), a wealthy young man from the capital, came to Thung Sawan to take over a hotel business and tried to meet Viscount Quell Thy Foe, the Viscount started to worry that his true identity would be exposed, seeing that Tul and him had a long history. From the time he went undercover to befriend the man for one of his previous cases and caused Tul's stepfather to be accused of being involved in opium trade. While Tul only had the intention to help Viscount Quell Thy Foe succeed in his mission quickly so he could return safely.

Tul was taken hostage and taken to the bandit lair by Bandit Lai, the largest thieves' lair owner in the area. Viscount Quell Thy Foe, who was undercover in the lair, helped Tul escape. At that time, Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery led a group of policemen to seize the lair of Bandit Lai thieves. While the police and bandits were in a gunfight, Tul announced that he would give a large bounty on Bandit Lai's head. So one of Saen the Millionaire’s men who went undercover in Bandit Lai’s den also went after Bandit Lai. But a white-robe hermit, whom Bandit Lai respected, helped the bandit escape with his magic.

Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery and Viscount Quell Thy Foe continued their chase on Bandit Lai. But the white-robe hermit had sorcery arts, making the arrest impossible. As they thought they had reached a dead end, the hermit was struck by lightning. At the same time, there was a flash flood and there was one black elephant tusk floated in the water. Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery took back found only one black elephant tusk while Bandit Lai mysteriously hanged himself in prison after being arrested. Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery received a disciplinary penalty for finding only one tusk and having a prisoner died under his watch during an on-going investigation. When Bandit Men, the bandit from bandit lair, who were close friends with Bandit Lai, came to take revenge on Bandit Lai's death, they found that Saen the Millionaire had made a deal with Bandit Lai, then double-crossed him with the police at the station and murdered Bandit Lai while he was in prison.

Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery adopted Toi as his child. But he had to resign from his superintendent position and return to the capital. Seng decided to go with him, he met the Viscount's family who welcomed him with open arms. Later on, Seng opened a restaurant selling chicken gravy with rice in the Sam Phraeng neighborhood. He lived with Viscount Ruthless Insolent Bravery and Toi until he closed his restaurant during World War II.
