Following the 1969 race riots in Malaysia, a man named Cyril Dragon founds a pan-religious utopian movement at a remote hill station.
His idealism collides first with the human flaws of his followers, and then with the single-minded machinery of the Malaysian nation state.
In contemporary Kuala Lumpur, his son now looks back on his late father's complicated legacy while navigating life in a nation that has chosen the opposing path of polarisation and ethnoreligious supremacy.
